LAA Showcases is a D.I.T. (Do-it-Together) volunteer based initiative catering to local, regional, and touring bands in the DIY (punk, indie, hardcore, rock, folk, hip-hop, metal) scene. We are an all ages venue and promote a safe space for everyone. The rules for our shows are simple: No alcohol, no drugs, no weapons, and no dummies. Respect the space and each other.
The LAA Showcases are run by the LAA Collective which consists of younger and emerging DIY promoters and volunteers who are being mentored to collaborate with others and to run, book, and promote their own shows. No promoter or volunteer makes any money from the showcases. They are run by those who believe in the necessity of an all ages space and a outlet to be creative in our community.
LAA Showcases host 4-8 shows per month in either The Lab Theater Venue for full band showcases or acoustic shows in The Lab Lounge. We are passionate about promoting our local DIY bands in the NoVa/DC/MD showcasing 1-3 local bands at every showcase.
We are committed to making shows affordable to the community. All shows are typically sliding scale ($5-$10) or pay what you can.

For all shows doors open at 6:30 pm. The show begins at 7:00 pm and end by 10:00 pm.
