Exploring the Intersection of Art, Faith and the Human experience

Opening Reception: Flowers One Day

Flowers One Day: Healing in the Intersection of Art & Faith November 1, 2013 - January 2, 2014 Opening Reception:November 9, 2013, 5 pm - 7 pm *light refreshments served My work comes out of a place of healing and is a continual looking and reaching inside myself to figure out who I am. As an ever evolving person I seek to look at myself in the light of relationships, experiences, and God. Looking through the lenses of these things I come into a better knowledge of who I am and who I seek to become. Recent years have brought me painful experiences and relationships, many of which are the hardest things I have ever had to face. Coming out of this is my current body of work called “Flowers One Day”. My painting and art-making has become therapy, a place of refuge and a friend. Through my art I want to be honest with myself and with those viewing my work about fear, secrets, desire, and pain. I hope that others will find something to relate to through those feelings, so that we know we are not alone in our tears.
