Exploring the Intersection of Art, Faith and the Human experience

JUNE TAIZÉ CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER SERVICE

Instrumental Meditation
(An invitation to rest and contemplation)

Song : # 5 Bless The Lord

Reading – Psalm 34:1-8

I will extol the Lord at all times;
    his praise will always be on my lips.
I will glory in the Lord;
    let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me;
    let us exalt his name together.

I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
    he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
    their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
    he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
    and he delivers them.

Taste and see that the Lord is good;
    blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

Song: #127 I Am Sure I Shall See

Reading – Psalm 19:14; Psalm 25:1,4,5; Psalm 4:1

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
    be pleasing in your sight,
    Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

In you, Lord my God,
    I put my trust.

Show me your ways, Lord,
    teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
    for you are God my Savior,
    and my hope is in you all day long.

Answer me when I call to you,
    my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress;
    have mercy on me and hear my prayer.

Song: #3 Stay With Me

Silent Meditation:  We will remain in silence for 10 minutes.  Use this time to clear your mind and open your heart and spirit to the voice of God. You may want to consider the following quote:

Thus says the Lord:

Stand at the crossroads and look,

And ask for ancient paths:

Where the good way lies; and walk in it,

And find rest for your souls

Jeremiah 6:16

“I am the way”

Jesus in John 14:6

BENEDICTION

Breathe in us, O Holy Spirit

That our thoughts may all be holy.

Act in us O Holy Spirit,

That we love but what is holy.

Strengthen us, O Holy Spirit,

To defend all that is holy.

Guide us, then, O Holy Spirit,

That we always may be holy.

Amen
